ALF appliance is custom made using a light wire, such as Elgiloy, and is non-invasive, naturally stimulating bone growth and expansion of dental arches. It allows space for the tongue in order to repair proper function. Once there is enough room in the dental arches and the tongue has room to function correctly, additional orthodontic techniques such as braces, or clear aligners, can help straighten the crooked teeth.

In junction with ALF with ALF dental treatment, after therapeutic modalities may be recommended such as: physiotherapy, chiropractic, osteopathy, massage therapy, acupuncture
